What the BLM is proposing

The Carlsbad Resource Management Plan (RMP) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is being developed to revise and replace the current 1988 Carlsbad RMP, as amended in 1997 and 2008. The Carlsbad Proposed RMP/Final EIS provides proposed future management direction for public lands and resources within the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carlsbad Field Office (CFO) planning area, comprised of 6.2 million acres, of which 2.1 million surface acres and 2.7 million subsurface acres are BLM-administered.
