What the BLM is proposing

Gathers

The Proposed Action is to gather and remove excess wild horses from the HMA to reduce the herd to the low Appropriate Management Level (AML) of 185 wild horses. The proposed action would be implemented by the helicopter drive-trap gather method, gathering 85% of the total population of 331 horses, or approximately 281 wild horses and removing approximately 146 excess wild horses.
